Positioned outside Sagri, it’s notable for its architectural style and exemplary restoration. The foundation stone was laid circa 1600, but it took its current fortified form in 1789.

Initially housing the Monastery of the Holy Cross, it was later transferred to the Greek state, then sold to the Bazeos or Bassegio family. Each summer, it hosts one of the Cyclades’ most noteworthy cultural events – the Naxos Festival.
